Burning Out
Dive in to "Burning Out"

Lyrics:
The sun is burning out. You used to think without doubt. Look up at the sun, it’s shone on for so long. It’s not just for the moment, and therefore we’re here. It’s clear: it’s almost gone, and what do we offer? How dare I and how dare we promise ourselves a future? When our past has not recovered. The sun is burning out. You used to think without doubt. A thousand pieces blown; I’m spinning out of control. And to think we’ve passed days alone. It’s so wrong, yeah, we finally realized it’s more than just for the moment. All the while, colors swarm with pretty lights. And cities mock this with artificial eyes. Don’t tell me this is only within my dreams. Little stories that I impossibly believe.
"Burning Out" marks Krissy's debut as a songwriter, originally created as a poem in early 2015 whilst living in New York City. Since its creation, the song has evolved through four distinct revisions, refining both its musical composition and lyrical depth. At its core, "Burning Out" speaks to the sorrow of lost innocence, a universal realization that comes with the passage of time—the understanding that something is always left behind. It also captures the empowering journey of embracing one's true self, ideas, and beliefs, and finding validation within. The Sun, along with other celestial motifs threaded throughout the album, serves as a symbolic beacon of hope, renewal, and encouragement. Yet, "Burning Out" also reflects on the transient nature of the Sun itself, urging us to cherish the fleeting time we have and to let go of selfishness and burdens that weigh us down.
